Utterly 2.0: Dictation, System Audio and More

We are thrilled to announce Utterly 2.0, our biggest release to date. This update brings three major features that our users have been requesting, along with under-the-hood improvements to transcription accuracy.

Dictation Mode

You can now use Utterly as a system-wide dictation tool on macOS. Activate it with a keyboard shortcut and start speaking. Your words are inserted directly at the cursor position in whatever app you are using. It works in emails, documents, chat apps, code editors, and anywhere else you can type.

System Audio Capture

Transcribe audio from any app on your Mac. Select a running application and Utterly will capture and transcribe its audio output in real time. Perfect for meetings, webinars, podcasts, and video content.

Improved Accuracy

We have updated our on-device AI models with better handling of technical vocabulary, proper nouns, and accented speech. Users can expect a noticeable improvement in transcription quality across all 26 supported languages. We have also launched free browser-based translation tools supporting 47 languages — powered by the same privacy-first approach.

iCloud Family Sharing

Pro Lifetime purchases now support iCloud Family Sharing. Buy once and share access with up to five family members across all their Apple devices.

How to Update

Utterly 2.0 is available now on the App Store. If you have automatic updates enabled, you should see the update shortly. Otherwise, open the App Store and check for updates manually.
